Our Mission
About Us
The US Film Awards was established to recognise excellence in filmmaking across craft, genre, territory and authorship, while maintaining a clear and structured awards framework.
Held annually in Los Angeles during the American Film Market period, the awards are positioned at the intersection of creativity and industry. The aim is simple: to honor serious filmmakers in a system that is accessible, merit-based and professionally judged.
The US Film Awards is not a public vote platform and does not operate as a popularity contest. All submissions are reviewed by a jury panel and assessed against defined category criteria.
The structure of the awards reflects the breadth of contemporary filmmaking. From Best Picture to craft categories, from student work to legacy recognition, from Black-led and LGBTQ+ cinema to international territory awards, the platform is designed to be inclusive while remaining disciplined.
The awards recognize:
• Feature Films
• Short Films
• Screenplays
• Legacy Films completed three years or more prior
• United States territory recognition across all 50 states
• Key international producing countries and global regions
The long-term vision is to build a stable and respected awards institution that grows year by year without compromising standards.
