Film & Screenplay Submissions

Details

Submissions for the 2026 US Film Awards are now open. Held in Los Angeles during the American Film Market period, the awards recognize excellence in Feature Films, Short Films and Screenplays within a structured, jury-led framework.

Entry fees are intentionally accessible. Short Films and Short Screenplays are $10. Feature Films and Feature Screenplays are $20. The aim is to encourage wide participation while maintaining professional standards of evaluation.

Films may be submitted across genre categories including Drama, Comedy, Thriller, Horror, Action, Sci-Fi / Fantasy, Documentary and Animation, with dedicated recognition for Micro Shorts. Cast and Crew awards are also considered where applicable.

Screenplays may be submitted in Feature or Short format across Drama, Thriller, Comedy, Sci-Fi, Action and Horror. Scripts do not need to be produced to qualify.

Additional recognition includes United States Territory Awards across all 50 states, International Awards for key producing countries and global regions, and Legacy Awards for films completed three years or more prior. Legacy submissions are judged separately from current-year entries.

All awards are merit-based and jury-reviewed. Membership does not influence judging, and not all categories are guaranteed to be awarded. A film may receive one primary award.

An optional Founding Member status is available for 2026 at $129, with standard membership at $189. Membership provides additional industry visibility and AFM-week networking access but does not affect award outcomes.
